personality:
Sherlock is a very odd pony. He is highly dependent on his few friends but gets himself into sticky situations by being too confident or cheeky. His intelligence makes it very easy for him to get bored and he develops bad habits quickly. He cares deeply but doesn't show it well, so comes off as distant and aloof. It's best for your health if you don't endanger his friends so watch your back if you were the one who had to bathe John; he can get pretty violent.
His best friend is John, and their awkwardly sweet relationship is one of the most fun to watch on the entire yard. They have mini arguments a lot over very silly things, but are fundementally lost without each other. His habit of wandering off on his own annoys many of his fieldmates but John shadows everything he does. He has been dragged bucking and nickering into co-parenting Hamish the orphaned foal but leaves most of the actual stuff to John. He tends to either ignore or go out of the way to annoy the hooves off of his brother Mycroft, and many of the other ponies in the 221B herd are quite hostile towards him - its only his assocciation with John that stops him being alone all the time. He has a potent rivalry with both Jim and Irene, and isn't good at covering up how much they get under his skin. Mrs Hudson is like his begruding adopted mother and he is very protective over her.
Sherlock needs a firm but patient handler since his free-willed quirkiness makes him almost a leader in himself; you don't take him for a ride, he takes you. Not that you need to worry, it's very rare that he doesn't know what he's doing well enough to get by. Because of this he isn't really a schooling pony, usually taken by the staff to accompany a school group. He gets on very well with Ink.
